Dr. catherine Burkes Brooks

Mrs. Burkes-Brooks, 81, from Selma, AL and lives in Birmingham is one of the original Freedom Riders who engaged in the political protest on the bus that traveled through the Jim Crow South. She spoke of Public Safety Commissioner Bull Connor and the white mobs that threatened the protesters, however, the Freedom Riders prevailed!
